Violeta Chavez and her husband, Edgardo Camacho, built their business, Orion Marble & Granite, LLC, with legacy in mind. Edgardo handles the countertop installation. Violeta manages the operations and has leaned on technology from the beginning to track employees’ time and manage schedules. But after dabbling with an overly-complicated app, it wasn’t long before she went searching for an easier-to-use option. Enter ezClocker, which made managing their growing business even more streamlined.
Chasing a Dream
Violeta and Edgardo packed up their family and moved from Utah to Idaho to chase potential, not guarantees. Edgardo spent more than 16 years crafting countertops and honing his expertise. In 2021, they started dreaming of creating something of their own. By 2022, they put their dreams into action and started doing installations for other companies.
Edgardo worked with another company at first, just getting to know the area. It turned out that their hunch was right: Idaho had a lot of potential. It was time to make the leap.
“He mentioned he would like to start a company here,” Violeta says. “That’s when all the family moved.”
Just one year later, Orion Marble & Granite is a true family business. Edgardo works with clients and handles installations. Violeta manages the office and behind-the-scenes work. Their oldest son, now in high school, helps with cleaning and office tasks.
With four employees and steady growth, the company is carving out its own space in the Idaho Falls area, one custom countertop at a time.
Growing a Business Fueled By Passion
For Edgardo, countertop installation isn’t just a job. It’s a labor of love.
“My husband loves what he does,” Violeta says. “He has a passion for the countertops and everything in this industry.”
Edgardo and his team don’t just install countertops. They help design the space, including helping clients find the perfect countertop for their project. From granite to marble to quartz, they offer standard installation as well as custom fabrication.
The passion has carried them through the early days, from establishing their presence in Idaho Falls to the transition from working for others to running a shop all on their own.
“It’s not as easy as we thought, but it also hasn’t been hard because when you love what you do, you don’t feel like it’s work,” Violeta says.

Searching for The Right Tech
Finding the right tech was a challenge from the beginning. As their team expanded, Violeta and Edgardo needed structure and organization, without creating over-complicated processes.
When they hired their first employee, Violeta began using a time-tracking app. But the first solution wasn’t the right fit. It required employees to use Face ID to clock in and out. It wasn’t long before they ran into a big problem: Their job sites didn’t always have reliable internet service.
“They needed to use facial recognition to clock in and take a photo of themselves, or they couldn’t get into the program,” Violeta says. “My worker was in the next state and didn’t have any signal to clock in for lunch.
“The name says it all,” Violeta says about ezClocker. “It’s easy to use. I signed up right away.”
It’s All In The Name
Violeta started searching for an alternative. That’s when she found ezClocker.
“The name says it all,” she says. “It’s easy to use. I signed up right away.”
She didn’t hesitate – or need a trial period. After downloading the app, she seamlessly added her employee and never looked back.
There was no need for facial recognition or searching for internet service on a distant job site. All their employees have to do is clock in and clock out through the app.
Even the onboarding process is easier.
“It doesn’t take a lot of time to set up a new employee,” Violeta says. “For them, it’s easy to use – that’s another reason I really like it.”
A Tool That Supports Real Growth
Violeta and her husband have four employees, and all of them use ezClocker. Employees can clock in and out from anywhere, without any extra equipment. Since it’s cloud-based and works on Apple and Android devices, it seamlessly integrates into their daily workflow.
And, since their team is typically working on job sites in Idaho and beyond, Violeta also relies on GPS verification to ensure everyone’s in the right place. The app automatically logs each employee’s location, and Violeta can view it on her phone or computer.
“I like that you can track their location, where they can clock in and out,” Violeta says. “That’s important because they go out and take breaks. We want to make sure they’re where they’re supposed to be.”
Of course, sometimes employees need to make timecard adjustments. In those situations, Violeta can easily handle the updates herself, ensuring timecards are accurate and payroll can stay on schedule.
“I’m the only one who can fix anything they miss,” she says.
As the business continues to grow, ezClocker is growing with it, thanks to its easy-to-use interface and simple onboarding process. There’s no frustration or long training, just a straightforward tool that provides accountability and works, no matter where the job takes employees that day.
“It saves me time, and it makes everything easier,” Violeta says.
